after only 3 days of interaction with the silver cat, she’s become very friendly towards us. usually, it starts with her hissing and growling (but not displaying any other signs of aggression, such as fluffed fur or ears turned back), and then she will walk over to us and start rubbing herself on our hands.
today, she would only hiss a few times before walking up to us and demanding pets. she’s become a very affectionate cat, purring and rubbing and rolling around while we’re near. she also has a very gentle personality and has not once lashed out in any way at us. when we offer her food, she takes it carefully with her teeth. she likes to put her front paws on my legs and then tap me lightly with one paw to get my attention.
she is just the sweetest little cat.
we’ve decided that we will take care of her for two months, at which point I must drive back across the country, where I will stay with my parents for the holidays and then get an apartment, and then fly to Germany to stay with Veit’s family, and THEN finally get an apartment there. needless to say, I can’t take her with me, as much as I’d love to.
if I can’t find a home for her by then I will be placing her in a no-kill shelter. I’d like to avoid this though because she would be terrified there.
I don’t have the means nor the money to get her checked out by a vet or anything, so her next caretaker will have to do that. she is also very thin, so we will be attempting to get her weight up slowly.
please, if anyone could take her, send me an ask. I’d be willing to drive her some distance if needed. I’ll be taking I-80 all the way from California to Michigan in November, so that’s an option, too.
